How to get to Kasaan

Transportaion

Kasaan can be accessed by automobile, floatplane and boat.

Road

Kasaan is connected via a gravel road to the Prince of Wales Island road system. Kasaan is connected to the rest of Prince of Wales Island road system via 18- miles of gravel road that runs from the Goose Creek turn-off directly into Kasaan.  The road, although graded frequently, is rough and full of sharp rocks and large potholes.   So make sure you have a good spare tire with you.

Floatplane

A State- owned seaplane base accommodates charter flights and airfreight services from Ketchikan.

Boat

There is a small boat harbor and dock at the old cannery site.  Freight is brought in by barge service in nearby community Thorne Bay.
